Big cities, NY Project

Today we talked about
big cities, different types of houses, and imagined what might be happening inside and what we could see through the windows.

Art Perspective: What We Learned Today
From an art perspective, we practiced drawing cityscapes, explored perspective and proportions, and used different techniques to illustrate buildings and window scenes. We worked with cardboard to create layered cityscapes, learned how to plan evenly spaced windows and doors, and discussed the basics of architectural layout. The children used their imagination to think about what might be happening behind each window, adding characters and stories that brought their buildings to life.
